John Swanson

Before joining Mercer Advisors, John founded Sheppard Wealth Management with the goal of providing comprehensive wealth management solutions to a select group of high net-worth families.

John’s investment career began in 1998 at Merrill Lynch Private Client Group. He finds it rewarding to guide clients through complex wealth management issues and facilitate conversations with family members as they explore their goals and dreams for the future.

John earned his B.A. from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. In 2003, John and his family (four wonderful kids) moved to Bend, Oregon, where they enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle.

Outside the office John enjoys mountain biking, motorcycling, running, snowboarding, traveling, and taking advantage of the many outdoor opportunities central Oregon offers.
