Dave began his career at Mercer Advisors in 2000. He has held multiple senior leadership positions at Mercer Advisors over his career including General Counsel (2000–2008), Chief Operating Officer (2003–2010), President (2004–2015), Head of Client Service (2003–2008), and Chief Executive Officer, 2008 through 2017. As CEO, Dave was responsible for transforming Mercer Advisors from a closely held company to a national platform RIA with 27 offices coast-to-coast.
Dave was the visioneer and architect for Mercer Advisors’ Family Office business model. He developed its national and dedicated salesforce, and established Mercer Advisors' referral partnerships with TD Ameritrade, Schwab, and Scottrade. During his tenure as CEO, Mercer Advisors was ranked among the fastest growing RIAs in the U.S., increasing AUM from $2B to $12.8B, expanding from 2,000 clients to over 8,000, and dramatically growing profitability while institutionalizing the business to create a uniform, high-quality customer experience office-to-office, representing a fully repeatable and scalable operating model.
