Question

Can I work and collect Social Security at the same time?

Answer

Yes, but your benefit may be temporarily reduced if you claim before full retirement age and earn above a limit. In 2027, the Social Security Administration withholds $1 for every $2 you earn above $25,560. In the year you reach full retirement age, it withholds $1 for every $3 above $67,920. When you reach full retirement age, you have no limit on your earnings.
