Meet Austin Burks
Austin Burks, a Sr. Portfolio Manager in Oklahoma City, is energized by the constant challenge of solving complex problems and continuously improving systems to enhance outcomes. The opportunity to combine analytical thinking with creative solutions keeps him deeply motivated. Pursuing the CFA® charter significantly inspired his path into financial services. The rigor, depth, and ethical standards emphasized by the CFA program motivated him to build a career where he could apply analytical skills to create meaningful financial outcomes for clients. Austin joined Mercer Advisors in 2025 through the acquisition of Full Sail Capital in Oklahoma City. In addition to being a CFA charter holder, Austin earned a BBA in finance and management information systems from the University of Oklahoma.

What keeps you busy outside of work?
I really enjoy endurance sports, specifically running outside of the office. One of my favorite things to do when I visit a new city is go for a long run to explore.
How do you give back?
Paired with my passion for personal running, I volunteer with a running based-mentor program in Oklahoma City called Course for Change, helping students train for and complete their first half marathon.
Any words you try to live by?
Growing up, my father’s favorite quote was, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” I think those are some pretty wise words to try to live by.
