Meet Daniel

Dan is a Sr. Wealth Advisor based in Hockessin, Delaware and primarily operating from Florida. He founded and led McDermott Advisory Group, LLC for more than 20 years before its acquisition by Mercer Advisors in 2018. He has been offering financial planning advice to individuals and businesses for nearly 40 years. Dan holds a B.S. degree from West Chester University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, Chartered Financial Consultant®, and Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. He is enthusiastic about building long-term relationships with his clients and understanding their distinct financial challenges. With patience and optimism, he aims to incorporate these qualities into his clients’ financial plans to help ensure long-term success.

What keeps you busy outside of work?

Exercise keeps me busy. You name it — running, cycling, golf, tennis, paddleboarding, weight lifting, and stretching, I like it. I also stay busy with my family. My wife and I enjoy trying to keep up with our three active adult children.

Five Star Wealth Managers 2025: Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers. The award is based on 10 objective criteria. Eligibility criteria-required: 1. Credentialed as a registered investment adviser (RIA) or a registered investment adviser representative; 2. Individually contributed to a financial settlement of a customer complaint; D. Filed for personal bankruptcy within the past 11 years; E. Been terminated from a financial services firm within the past 11 years; F. Been convicted of a felony); 4. Fulfilled their firm review based on internal standards; 5. Accepting new clients. Evaluation criteria-considered: 6. One-year client retention rate; 7. Five-year client retention rate; 8. Non-institutional discretionary and/or non-discretionary client assets administered; 9.
