Jon Kennedy

Jon has been advising clients for more than 15 years, relishing the academic nature of the financial services industry throughout his career. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and a Master of Science in financial services.

Jon specializes in advanced planning techniques, adeptly navigating the nuances and complexities of real-life situations to create optimal experiences for the families he collaborates with. In 2015, he co-founded Waypoint Capital Advisors, a multi-family office in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which was acquired by Mercer Advisors in 2024.

Before starting his own company, Jon spent over a decade addressing complex financial and family issues at one of the top 50 RIA offices in the country.

He lives in the greater Minneapolis area with his wife, to whom he has been married since 2007, their two children, and two dogs. Jon enjoys traveling with his family and is actively engaged in various professional groups
