Jimmy Zhao

Jimmy is the Chief Corporate Development Officer of Mercer Advisors, leading the M&A Partner Development team and the expansion of the company’s corporate development efforts to evaluate adjacent markets, new partnerships, and new opportunities. He has more than a decade of experience advising financial services firms on strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and large-scale transformation. Prior to joining Mercer Advisors in 2026, he was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he led the firm’s North American wealth management and retirement practices and advised on some of the industry’s largest M&A deals and private capital investments. He advised large Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), asset managers, and financial sponsors on more than 50 transactions and strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions totaling over $100 billion in enterprise value. Earlier in his career, Jimmy served as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Credit Suisse. Jimmy earned an MBA degree from Columbia Business School and a B.A. degree from Harvard University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst®.
