Jacob Cedor

Financial Planner

Through comprehensive financial planning, I may not be able to predict your future, but I can help prepare you for it.

Meet Jake

Jake is a Financial Planner based in Woodbridge, Connecticut. He joined Mercer Advisors after serving as Paraplanner at Monte Financial Group for two years. He’s had a passion for personal finance and investing from a young age, having participated and placed in competitions throughout middle and high school. Today, his service to others is inspired by the combination of his father’s financial and analytical skills as a certified public accountant, and his mother’s relationship and trust building skills as an audiologist in hearing aid sales. Jaked earned a B.S. degree in international business with a minor in economics from Quinnipiac University and a MBA degree from Quinnipiac University.

His working style

Jake’s goal is to understand his clients deeply — what matters most to them, what they value, and where they aspire to be — so that their financial plans are personalized and genuinely meaningful. He takes an educational approach to planning to help clients see how their choices could shape their financial future. Rather than telling people what to do, Jake focuses on giving them the clarity and context they need to make confident, well‑informed decisions for themselves.

Jake in real life

How do you give back?

I’ve always believed in maximizing my time to strengthen my community. That’s what drew me to a career in personal finance and what drives my involvement in helping to coordinate fundraisers and local food drive efforts across Connecticut. Philanthropy is a meaningful part of my life, and I encourage including the causes that matter to you most in our conversations.

What keeps you busy outside of work?

I enjoy spending quality time with those who matter most to me — family, friends, and of course, my dog, Kodie. That could be through playing a round of golf, exploring new places (wineries, coffee shops, and hiking and walking trails), or enjoying a Sunday family dinner. I don’t mind the more relaxed settings, either, such as a well-deserved movie night or the occasional “try to get lost” drives with the windows down.

Favorite thing about where you live?

Connecticut is the perfect place to enjoy everything I love outside of work. It has that New England charm, with great hiking and walking trails and beaches all within reach. The state is also full of wonderful wineries, breweries, and coffee shops — you can rarely go wrong with any of them. And being right between Boston and New York, it’s just a quick train ride to either city!
