David began his financial services career in 2009, following a two-year internship that provided invaluable exposure to the extreme market volatility of 2007-2008. Before joining Mercer Advisors in 2016, he spent seven years as a client advisor at an independent RIA firm in Minneapolis, Minnesota. David is dedicated to helping clients ride life’s financial rollercoaster, with a particular emphasis on behavioral finance and managing client emotions.
As a market leader, he oversees teams in Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico, bringing the Mercer Advisors family office model to more families. Inspired by his early experiences as a young caddy at Hazeltine National Golf Course, David learned the value of building trusting relationships, especially when providing a service. He maintains the philosophy that it is important to stay humble, stay positive, and build meaningful relationships.
David graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with a degree in finance and holds a master’s in financial planning from the College for Financial Planning. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM, Master Planner Advanced Studies, and Accredited Behavior Finance ProfessionalSM designations.
David lives in Scottsdale with his wife, daughter, and son, experiencing the desert landscape and mountains. In his spare time, he enjoys being a husband and father, reading, hiking, playing golf, and watching his beloved Minnesota Vikings. He is a director and treasurer of Helping Hands for Single Moms and volunteers for 3rd Decade and Andre House.
