David Baratta

David has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Throughout his career, he has managed portfolios for a diverse range of clients, including pension plans, endowments, mutual funds, and affluent families.

David has overseen asset allocation models and conducted extensive research on hundreds of companies across various sectors and industries. He has published articles on companies, economics, and industry trends, and has made guest appearances on CNBC and CNN.

In 2015, David co-founded Waypoint Capital Advisors, a multi-family office based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which was acquired by Mercer Advisors in 2024. David grew up in Maine, where he developed a love for boating on the ocean and lakes. He now splits his time between the east and west coasts.

David is actively involved with several charities and sits on the executive committee of The Legacy Foundation, a San Diego-based organization that raises funds for various deserving causes. He also serves on the tournament committee for Pro Kids / First Tee of San Diego.

In his free time, David enjoys boating, fishing, and is a member of Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey.
