Meet Matthew
Matthew is a Tax Manager based in New York, New York. Matthew joined Mercer Advisors in 2018 through the acquisition of Traust Sollus where he served as Staff Accountant providing tax preparation and tax planning solutions. Matthew earned a BBA degree in accounting and legal studies and an M.S. degree in taxation from Hofstra University. Matthew is also a certified public account (CPA).
His working style
Matthew is known for taking a detailed look at client taxes to help ensure an accurate tax return and find any tax savings opportunities possible. He responds quickly to any questions clients may have and takes time to help explain relevant tax law provisions to help clients make informed decisions.

What keeps you busy outside of work?
I’m an avid chess player.
How do you give back?
I volunteer as an instructor for Hofstra University’s branch of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, training volunteers in tax law so they can prepare tax returns for free for low-income individuals.
