Meet Matt

Matt is a Sr. Wealth Advisor based in West Des Moines, Iowa. He joined Mercer Advisors in 2024 through the acquisition of River Glen Wealth Counselors (RGWC). Matt founded and managed RGWC in 2008, offering comprehensive financial planning services nationwide. The firm specialized in serving corporate executives, helping with compensation plans, and managing concentrated stock positions. Before RGWC, Matt was a registered representative with American Express Financial Advisors, Inc., where he earned the President’s Recognition for Quality Advice for 10 consecutive years. Matt earned a B.S. degree in human development and social policy from Northwestern University and a MBA from the University of Iowa. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor®. Matt also values the lessons learned in discipline from his time in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Education. I’m curious about everything and deeply enjoy learning. I also greatly appreciate how my career affords me the opportunity to teach.

How do you give back?

By helping Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy build and implement a three-course curriculum on personal financial literacy and planning.
