Mathew Encino

As General Counsel of Mercer Advisors, Inc. and its subsidiaries, Mathew oversees the firm’s legal and compliance affairs, directly managing the Legal Department and its daily operations. His principal areas of responsibility include corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, employment, contracts, legal and compliance risk management, investigations, and litigation.

Prior to joining Mercer Advisors, Mathew practiced corporate law in Houston, Texas, during which time he represented businesses in complex litigation, transactions, and corporate restructuring. He joined Mercer Advisors as Deputy General Counsel in the firm’s Houston office in 2017 and advanced to General Counsel in 2019. Mathew earned a juris doctor degree (Doctor of Law) from University of Houston Law Center.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Mathew now resides in Denver, Colorado, while still maintaining his loyalty to the San Antonio Spurs.
