Karen is a Certified Public Accountant with Mercer Advisors’ tax department. Before turning her sights towards public accounting in 1997, Karen worked in the entertainment industry and has held prominent positions with private companies, as well as public accounting firms. Karen graduated with honors from California State University Northridge with a degree in Film Production, went back to CSUN for accounting classes to pass the CPA exam, then earned a Master of Science in Taxation degree with High Honors from Golden Gate University. Prior to joining Mercer Advisors, Karen worked for Steven M. Berkson, CPA for fifteen years as Senior Manager. Karen has lived in the Los Angeles area for most of her life and enjoys wine, gardening, hiking (especially in Yosemite), and traveling with her husband Curtis and Border Collie, Gaia.
