Jon Kennedy

Jon is a senior wealth advisor in the Regis Group at Mercer Advisor, where he specializes in advanced planning techniques for high-net-worth families with complex finances. He enjoys navigating the nuances and complexities of real-life situations to create optimal experiences for the families he collaborates with.

He brings to Mercer Advisors more than 20 years of experience in wealth management. In 2015 he co-founded Waypoint Capital Advisors, a multi-family office in Minneapolis which delivered family office services to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families, and which joined Mercer Advisors as part of the Regis Group in 2024. Before starting his own company, Jon spent over a decade addressing complex financial and family issues at one of the leading 50 RIA offices in the country.

He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional, who earned a Master of Science in financial services from the American College, and a bachelor’s in finance from St. Cloud State University.

He lives in the greater Minneapolis area with his wife, to whom he has been married since 2007, their two children, and two dogs. Jon enjoys traveling with his family and is actively engaged in various professional groups. A closet drummer when he has time, Jon also likes to snowboard and is involved with his kids’ activities.
